Black Chai – The Original Spicy Comfort Drink

Black Chai is the original spicy comfort drink, wreathed in a rich concoction of intense flavours for a full-on taste sensation. Here in England we may add a drop of milk to our cup of Indian tea and maybe a couple of sugars but in its home country the additions don’t stop there. For a start there will probably be the entire contents of a can of sweetened condensed milk poured into the large catering-size stainless steel tea urn. Then the contents of the spice cupboard – nutmeg, cloves, peppercorns, ginger, cinnamon, star anise, all-spice, are tipped into the mix.  For the full effect the chai would be brewing and extracting all day. This is what would give you a thick satisfying spicy kick in the solar plexus!
