Pensativo
Since 1973, the Pensativo Co-op has grown its quality and quantity with the help of Fedecocagua who have helped by providing access to agronomists and processing machinery and micro-financing. Rich, volcanic soil provides the perfect growing conditions for this coffee at around 1600-1800 masl. After picking, coffee is washed and dried on drying patios until the optimum moisture level is reached, before being milled and graded. This year we’re getting great balance in the cup with a silky texture, mild acidity and some red apple and custard cream notes.
Duwancho
Due to it’s intense fruitiness, this lot was named Duwancho, after a local fruit that is found in the Keramo area. This particular lot is a small selection from the Keramo washing station which is part of Daye Bensa’s micro-lot program that separates out different lots of cherries to optimise quality. Made up of a combination of selected JARC varieties, such as Dega, Wolisho and Kudhume and also wild Ethiopian Landrace varieties, we’re getting sweet, refreshing fruit notes reminds us of lychee, blueberry and crème brulee.
